9 Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns— whether they be green or dry—the wicked will be swept away. Psalm 58:9

Even before the plans of the evil are made, they fail. Imagine the prayer being answered−the plans of evil happen so quickly they fall apart. The time people use to device evil is wasted even though it may appear as if they are succeeding. David knew that prayer for the darkness around him would give him insight into seeing it through his eyes.

We are the light of the world and

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Mt. 5:14 One way to keep evil from growing is for us to continue in the light. Our call is to keep the light shining in the darkness even when it tries to prevail.

15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:15,16

There is a way to overcome evil in our world, and that is through each one of us doing our part. When others see us in the world, they should notice our actions. The deeds others notice should be kind and give apparent glory to God. Our good deeds should be evident.
