Breaktime Bible Study: God Can

God Can

8 May, they are like a slug that melts away as it moves along, like a stillborn child that never sees the sun. Psalm 58:8

The practice of evil has consequences, and David prays that they would be stilled. His prayer desires for the wicked to be aborted before it begins, or gives birth. David imagined God able to overcome evil and asked Him to do so.

Can you imagine a world where before evil overcomes, God puts an end to it? We can all pray God will put an end, but until then, God can work all things out.

11 In him, we were also chosen,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11,12

What if we understood that God would work it all out with and for His purposes. Instead of losing hope of seeing the evil surrounding us, what if we could see God using it for purpose? Now it's difficult to imagine how God can use the schemes of the wicked for a purpose. Our role is to put our hope in God and stay clear of hopelessness when evil surrounds. God is greater than any evil power that tries to invade.
