Breaktime Bible Study: Do we need a Savior

Do we need a Savior?

Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood. Psalm 59:2

David, the Psalmist, had several people trying to take his life. Not many of us will face the physical onslaught of people trying to take us down. However, David knew who to call on for deliverance and saving in this situation.

Identifying the evil around us is the first place to start. In our world, anger and hate are the crimes that are trying to take us down. When we participate in the dangers, we need saving. We are too weak in and of ourselves to resist the temptations which try to overcome us. The answer is found in knowing the need for a Savior.

We are all in need of a Savior, but are we truly convinced we are standing in the place of need? Have we admitted we can’t do this apart from our Savior? Will it be you today standing in need, asking as David did for the attacks to diminish? The need is different for all of us, but the goal of the enemy is still the same. His goal is for us to become self-sufficient and take life's matters in our hands.
