Breaktime Bible Study: The Way to Go

The Way to Go

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. Psalm 45:7

Jesus is the ultimate One who doesn’t remain neutral on right and wrong. He loves righteousness and hates wickedness, and He revealed how far He is willing to go with His love for us by going to the cross. He demonstrated for us how to stay from evil and walk in the good. Jesus now is seated above all power and authority flowing with the oil of joy.

Jesus challenges us to walk in His footsteps, demonstrating good and steering away from evil. He also gives us the Holy Spirit who empowers us to follow. Had we been left alone to follow, we would not have had the courage or strength. But now because we have the Holy Spirit as our constant, we can rely on His righteousness to follow.

Do we love righteousness? Is the hunger in us to serve the places we live with the rightness of Jesus? Is the motive of our heart to allow Him to work through us as a vessel? If not, don’t fall into despair and think you can’t do it; fall into surrender and invite Jesus into the areas of resistance. Can you say you love righteousness, for the One who lives within us does− live in unity with His voice?
