Breaktime Bible Study: The Mending Process

The Mending Process
You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking. Psalm 60:2

God has shaken the land and is reminding them of their sin. When a shaking comes from God, it begins to expose the germs that are infecting the nation. God is not a mean or distant God, but He is choosing to reveal what is hidden.

It is through the difficulties of life that we find ourselves reaching out more for the hand of God to rescue us. We all have places that are fractured through life’s pains. If the wound isn’t revealed, it can become infected and be a filter through life. Wounds that speak are often hurtful and cold. We all respond differently to places of pain in our life. But the Good news is God can heal the broken, but we have to admit the pain.

There is a process in healing, but the first step is recognizing when it hurts. We can often tell when we hurt by the way we respond to others. If we treat others with contempt, it could be we have places of fracture in our life. We don’t have to carry these fractures around unattended. God is a healer, and when the wound is attended, God can administer to the need. We no longer have to keep our wound concealed; we can bring them to God and ask God to mend the fracture.
