Breaktime Bible Study: Overcome Injustice

Overcoming Injustice

No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. Psalm 58:2

Injustice begins in the heart−the place where hurt and pain hibernates. When pain is left unattended, it breeds anger and resentment. Then anger begins to react out of violence and destroys those in its path. David recognized that all the injustice that was coming his way starts in the enemy's heart.

Friends, in our age, we are facing injustice, and there are hands planning violence on the earth. When anger breeds, it gives birth to hate, and often many are mistreated. When hate is in the heart, it is limited in its ability to love. Hate doesn’t care who's in its path, it devours.

There are many wrongful actions in our world, but our response is critical. The way we respond to all the injustice begins in our hearts. We have the transforming power of God at work in us, and it's ready to be shared. We can step into the world with the power of God's love at work and share the reason for our response. People are in pain; we can step into their lives and influence with love and respect.
