Coffee Break is a women’s Bible Discovery group, who meet weekly to study the Bible and fellowship with other women. All study materials are provided and no previous knowledge of the Bible is necessary.
Childrens’ programs : join us in activities that present the gospel through Bible stories, Christian songs, creative learning sessions, crafts, and appropriate behavior skills in free play.
Story Hour – children ages 3 years and up.
Nursery – infants and toddlers

Love and Logic: Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!® - Evening Classes

 

We offer classes that follow the “Parenting With Love and Logic” programs and utilize their resources. The Love and Logic philosophy was developed by Jim Fay, Dr. Foster Cline and Dr. Charles Fay from Golden, Colorado. You can learn more about this program by visiting the Love and Logic website.

Love and Logic teaches parenting skills that cultivate confidence and good decision making skills in children by offering choices, empathy, and respect while avoiding anger, threats, and warnings. Families First offers this life-changing, easy to learn curriculum FREE of charge to local parents with children, toddler to teens.

Meet and Eat Class-Parenting the Love and Logic Way®

When: Tuesdays: January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 5, 19, 26, April 2, 9 (no class during Spring Break), 12:00–1:00pm

Where: Pizza Ranch (Pella)

What is the class about? Come and learn the basics of Love and Logic or refresh your skills if you have already taken the classes! Everyone is welcome! Great time to meet your spouse for a lunch date and “get on the same page” with parenting your kids! From 12:00–1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, join us for lunch and to learn the principles of Love and Logic through videos and table discussions. The sessions are in a relaxed style so feel free to come and go as you need to. This class focuses on parenting children of all ages.

Is childcare available? FREE childcare will be available in the nursery of Second Reformed Church from 11:40–1:10 p.m. If you are planning to use childcare, please contact Allison Kerndt (780-5741 or familiesfirst94@gmail.com) to reserve space.

Do I have to pay for lunch? FREE lunch for adults at the Pella Pizza Ranch.

Do I need to register? No registration required – simply come when you can!


Geri-Fit classes at the Pella Public Library

 
 

Event Location: Pella Public Libary, Meeting Room
Event Description: Volunteers are needed to participate in a three month video-led fitness study conducted by the Geri-Fit Company. To qualify for the study, participants must be age 65 or over and not be doing any kind of strength training exercises (walking, tai chi or yoga is ok). Most of the exercises will be performed seated in a chair and you will not have to get on the floor.

You will need to bring your own set of 2 or 3-pound dumbbell weights, a stretch band and water to drink during the workout. You will be exercising to a Geri-Fit® DVD and several different levels of Geri-Fit® video workouts will be shown throughout the duration of the study. Everyone is encouraged to work out at their own pace.

Good attendance is requested! Classes will be held twice-a-week for 45-minutes each time. Upon completion of the 12 week study, each participant will fill out a survey to help evaluate the effectiveness of the video-led classes and to determine if their strength, stamina, balance and range of motion has improved.

Dates & Times: Every Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 am - 11:30am, beginning Wednesday, January 16th through Friday, April 5th.

Divorce Care for Kids - Third Church

DC4K provides 5-12 year-old children with a safe and neutral place to gain an age-appropriate understanding of separation and divorce. The weekly session topics help your child learn God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.
