Great News! (or as MercyMe says, it's the Best News Ever!)

On our second night in the wilderness, we slept in the open on a sandy beach next to the river. In the middle of the night I woke up, put on my glasses, and stared up at the countless brilliant stars twinkling above in the heavens. I stopped for a moment to ponder the fact God knew each and every one of those stars - and he knew me. Tears filled my eyes as I wept for joy; God knew me, loved me, had forgiven me and set me free from bonds I thought could never be broken. I still tear up every time I think about it.

Quiet My Pain (Finding Rest in Jesus)

I did not have a good night last night; a discussion about current events triggered some powerful emotions around an area of my deepest pain, which triggered not only overwhelming anxiety but also caused my chronic pain to flare up as well. My mind raced as I struggled to fall asleep; over and over again I threw myself before the mercy seat of Christ, asking him to replace anxiety with peace and fill my mind with the truth that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Some things cause so much noise that we can hardly hear our loved ones trying to communicate. We can become distracted with fretting over people’s success we can hardly hear the voice of what God has achieved in us. We can hardly see God’s ways because they have become blinded by the wicked ways of others which may be appealing.

This is the reward we have for being committed and trusting in God −He takes care of our reputation. God is the One who has our back and others will notice our righteousness, not so we can be acclaimed, but so God can be glorified.  

It should be as clear as the dawn whom we stand for. There should be no question before others where our trust rests. Even in the darkest of hours, the light should be shining.
