Breaktime: Not By our Strength

Not By our Strength

It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. Psalm 44:3

It wasn’t because of their goodness or power that Israel was/is saved, but soley because of the power of God. Without the power of God at work, there would have been a stilled nation without life or purpose other than their own esteem. Now they didn’t stand by and watch God’s right-hand move, but they allowed their hands to be the sword of God. However, it was His power that gave them the victory, and it is His glory that is applauded.

God’s hands continue to move through us for His power continues to be at work through his disciples. We can no longer sit idly by and blame God for the condition of our world. So many people blame others for the divisions which are raised around us. Some want to fight for truth and justice, and others demand they are right.

What if we put away our rightness and offered peace and redemption? What if we entered our daily life with the Spirit exuding love and grace to all we meet? Could this be the right-hand God is trying to extend to our modern nation? Jesus already brought redemption and justice, so now our role is to allow our hands to be His extension of love and peace.
