Breaktime: Being Lifted Up

Being Lifted Up
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. Psalm 40:2

David’s relationship with God is so real as he reveals to us how to live with God in daily communion. His feet had slipped into a slimy pit and he found himself in need of being rescued. Not real sure how he ended up in this pit of sin and life’s circumstances.

We can all find life’s troubles surrounding us and can all face troubles which lead us to make decisions and choices which don’t end well. We can then find the places we stand are falling apart. It’s right there, before the slimy pit takes over, that we call out to God. It is God who reaches in and rescues us from the fall.

Being lifted out is what God does. When we find our choices leading us down a road of despair and trouble, God is there. He doesn’t leave us when life becomes difficult for this is exactly the place where God comes in. His relief is a deep relationship with Himself. He places us back into a relationship with Him that is steady. God gives us this divine perspective and reveals faith as the answer. God’s ways are a steady way, not a rocky slipping path. He is the solution for all of life’s issues.
