Breaktime: Joy can Carry us
Joy Can Carry Us
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The LORD is great!” Psalm 40:16
David closed this Psalm with an uplifting offer to all who seek God. It begins with God’s grace revealing Himself to his people, and in return, they seek him. David is teaching us to approach God with rejoicing and proclaiming His greatness.
Being lifted up by joy could be the best medicine we will ever take. There are many antidotes to make it through life, but praise gives us joy. It is a different perspective to continue rejoicing through life than most have ever found. There is always a reason to be glad, but sometimes it’s hidden in the stress and pressures of life. Expressing ourselves through praise will help us see and exclaim joy.
We can seek many things in life, trying to find happiness. Finding gladness in God will help us find what we have been longing for. When we call out to God for help in our life, it changes everything. Turning our attention from our problem to the source of help can give us a new perspective and hope. There could be situations in our life which have weighed on us for a long time, and the answer is calling out to God for his saving help; He has a lot to give.
