Enjoy Being Meek

Enjoy Being Meek

But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity. Psalm 37:11

There is something encouraging about being meek. What in the world does it mean to be meek? Jesus said,” blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth”. Matthew 5:8. What’s all this talk about meekness? Meek has an accurate view of oneself and has accepted this view as a child of God. It has the right way of thinking because it no longer walks through the world demanding but walks beside others.

Meekness is difficult to accept because it walks in an opposing viewpoint. We are told to compete and walk in a political nature and way, but meekness can walk through the world with love. It frees us from the prison of pride and demanding our own way. Jesus before Pontius Pilot is an example of meekness for it wasn’t Jesus who was going to be in prison, it was Pilot.

Jesus was free because His Fathers presence was leading Him. Meek people live in the presence and find contentment living in Christ. They find their peace and nature from being with Jesus. They have learned the truth that apart from Christ, they can do nothing and have settled this truth in their heart. What a way to walk in this world, being concerned about continuing in Christ and bringing Glory to God. It's not the wicked who are living in the richness of inheritance, it’s the meek.
