Breaktime: Transforming

Transforming

All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. Psalm 45:13

Again the writer describes the beauty of what the church reveals. When the Lord peaks inside, He sees the beauty. The Lord sees the transformational work of His Spirit and all the glory. The church has been purified and renewed by His Spirit, which dwells within.

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. Ephesians 5:27

The transforming work of Jesus is to present the church to be holy and without fault. The places where the blemish shows up He cleanses through His blood. Jesus purifies His church until the stains are gone. This work has already been accomplished through the cross, but now we are still in the process of sanctification.

Holiness and beauty don’t have to be resisted as confining and legalism but freeing. The work He does in our life is there to set our hearts free from the stains which bring harm to our life. The work of purifying us happens on the inside as He continues His work until we are presented without blemish. Oh, church, let us never stop allowing His beauty to transform us.
