Happiness in Life
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, Psalm 34:12
Loving life may look different than loving the world and this instruction of the King comes from his experience. If we could only learn from the understanding of others through wisdom and teaching from the advice of Godly people. The disciple John learned that loving the world only revealed our lack of love for the Father.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. I John 2:15
We all long to see many good days ahead but could it be we are looking for the wrong things in our day? There are many pleasures we can fill our life with which may lead to a temporal happiness and satisfaction. Soon we find the pleasure fleeting as the world offers these temporal temptations every day.
We can have a pleasurable tasting every day when we taste and see that the Lord is good. Even in the mundane and routine of everyday living, we can have joy. Happiness comes to us each day through the ordinary. Be cautious, for living is not found in the love of the world for it will fill us with pleasure only to rip it away with consequences. After all, is there anything ordinary about living in relationship with Jesus?
