God's Eyes and Ears
"The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry." Psalm 34:15
What an encouragement to know God has His eyes on those who are doing right. We have God’s attention when we do what is upright. It's not that He loves us more, but that His eyes are on us. He sees the good we are doing, even if no one else notices. We can be assured that God is seeing us.
God not only sees the good we do, but He also hears our cries. He knows when our heart is crying out, He pays attention to the cries of the righteous. It is hard to imagine God watching over us and listening to our cries. When we cry out, we can be assured that even if no one else can see us weeping, God can. He is close to the brokenhearted.
What a source of joy to know God is watching our acts! Doing good gets the attention of God: what a delightful thought. To know the good, we ought to do and not do it is called sin. There is plenty of good acts we can do each day. Doing right is not reserved for a special occasion but it is an everyday way of living. Living in constant goodness is what God can supply. God is always leading us to do good.
