The Needed Influence

He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Psalm 33:7

Another great image of the power of God. Right when we may think we don’t have a need for God, this verse is here. Imagine, when God looks on the sea, it’s like looking at water gathered in jars. What God sees is beyond human eyes for His vision challenges our unbelief.

There are no words which can compare to what God can do, and this verse challenges our unbelief. There is nothing He can’t do, but we are being tested daily. The trials come when we neglect to acknowledge His presence around us. When we walk through the day without relying on His omnipresence or when we stop counting on Him, and we are left without His superior intelligence leading our day.

When we are leaning into God’s control, we stay governed by His Majesty and we cannot control the waters no matter how hard we try. We all know when water is out of control the devastation that can happen. The picture is the same when we try and control our life as it can lead us to complete damage. Why would we try and be the center of influence over our lives? God is the much-needed influence.
