Can We Be Led?
David not only was willing to go and learn from God, but he was ready to be led. David was giving the council he knew and was living as he was giving away what God had been teaching him. He knew the loving eyes of God as the promise of his willingness to go the Lord's way. He knew the peace which surrounded him, and he denied his own way to follow God’s way.
The question then becomes, are we willing to be instructed and taught in God’s ways or have we become unteachable? This is a scary place to be when we shut off our mind of allowing God to lead us. It could be subtle, or it could be we have found ourselves in church all our lives and yet not practicing or really believing His teaching for our daily living. It could be we have read through the Bible several times and again set it aside for regular teaching or pull it out for special occasions only.
The teaching of God and following His ways are for our daily lives as well as for eternity. Its fearlessly following Him even if no one else is and it’s standing in His truth despite the consequences. It’s being instructed in truth in a world of fallacy and dishonest practices, and it’s willing to say even if our closest loved ones don't go with us, we will still go. But know when we make the decision to be led, it’s His loving eye which shines the way. His ways may not always be the easy way but it is still the right way, and we will find it filled with love.
